The world we live in is massive. Filled with so many kinds of people, ranging from the joyful to the troubled. Although so different, everyone has their experiences they go through in life. Experience leads to inner change and can redefine who you truly are.
The year of 2016 was one of many challenges for me, and I emerged stronger after conquering all of them. They were difficult to face, and often pulled me down to my knees, but I survived and made it through.
In 2009 a very close friend of mine passed, leaving me in a period of social devastation. In early June of 2016, I revisited him and finally closed the gap between me and his untimely young demise. Later on, I reopened myself to relationships, and so much unfolded from one simple action.
These were the two major times of change for me. The first is talked about in the poem Reassurance, but the second actually took course over the end of the year, when I began writing poetry inspired by the events that I was faced with. That poetry became this chapbook. As the poems go along, so does the story of the challenges I faced.
Along with each poem, an explanation for it is also given to help you readers understand better the actual events that they are about. This is the story of my experiences, after finding Furry Fandom, with its open community, and the loving friends I made within it.
